THE END OF SPOOK-TOBER — We hope you all had a happy Halloween, whether you celebrated it on Saturday or Monday or both, because children can never have too much candy; just ask their parents, especially after taking the Dad Tax.
As we move away from the #SpookySeason and toward Thanksgiving (or Christmas, in some homes), let's take a look back at one of the scariest things we saw on television on Halloween night.
No, it wasn't the Criterion Collection's horror movie marathon. It was Monday Night Football on ESPN.
Eli Manning, who co-hosts the ManningCast with his older brother Peyton every Monday night, popped into Monday's game between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals with a truly terrifying disguise: a lookalike mask of Chad Powers, the fictional freshman walk-on quarterback at Penn State who penned an episode of his ESPN+ series "Eli's Places" earlier this fall.

Manning initially vowed to wear the mask until the first punt of the game, but the latex was so uncomfortable that he ended up peeling the rubbery signature from his face just three minutes into the game. The removal, too, might terrify young viewers; the skin folds look like someone's melting face, like they had just seen the Ark of the Covenant from the Indiana Jones movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark."
By the way, the Browns' defense kept Joe Burrow winless against his Ohio rival in his time with the Bengals, and former BYU linebacker Sione Takitaki had a team-high 13 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in the 32-13 win.
Of course, Manning also had some fun with the attire. He posted a photo with his family's Halloween costumes that include Powers, Marvel's Hulkling (the younger, smaller version of the Incredible Hulk) and a mariachi musician, among other trends.
