With the shift in the auto industry, buying a new car went from walking around a lot to ordering online. While you can occasionally find a brand new car on a dealership lot, it might be sold by the time you get there.
Rebecca Betterton writing for Bankrate says, "This shift into online car buying is not a completely new idea. Lots of local dealers have had online marketplaces available for customers to look at inventory before arriving at the lot. But the online car shopping experience has become much more in-depth as of recent."
With the ability to completely design a car that you want, down to engine and color, it's important that you choose the model you want to drive for the next 10 years (or more). Working with a verified Nissan dealer to order your dream car is a great place to start.
If you're in the market for a mid-size SUV, give the 2023 Pathfinder a drive. I did, and these are the reasons I would recommend it to anyone.
Incredible interior
When I picked up some friends for a drive up Millcreek Canyon, both of them audibly gasped when they opened the back doors. The interior of the Pathfinder is really that incredible. In this Platinum edition, the camel-colored seats are stitched in a herringbone pattern, giving the interior depth and a sense of luxury.
The ample room in both the driver's seat and second row are noteworthy. Four adults fit comfortably in the car with plenty of legroom and personal space.

While you can get a model with seating for eight, the model I drove had the ability to transport seven. The second row had two captain's seats with a thoughtful console and cup holder in the middle. That row easily collapses and slides forward with one easy motion, so those sitting in the back can get in and out with less climbing.
In the front seating area, you'll find a wireless charging pad, USB and USB-C ports, deep console space and two cup holders. The backseat also includes air conditioning vents and two charging ports.
Need-to-know specs
The Nissan Pathfinder AWD is a great choice for any Utahn because it can adapt to any terrain. If you're driving on a snowy back road, there's a driving mode you can activate. You'll also find different modes for sand, going downhill, rut/mud and more. So if you're cruising dirt roads in Moab in the morning and then a snowy canyon on the way home, you'll be completely at ease with the Pathfinder's capabilities.
If you want to get into the gritty details of the car, you'll find a V6 engine under the hood, with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Climbing hills and driving with the whole family isn't a problem with 284 horsepower moving you forward.
Car and Driver says the 2023 Pathfinder can also tow up to 6,000 pounds—perfect for your weekend lake trip with a boat or a trip to the dunes with four-wheelers.
Bells and whistles
Though not necessary, these added features are incredibly helpful. Whenever I test drive a Nissan, I know I'm going to have an easy time backing up into a parking space and I won't be sweating bullets trying to parallel park. With Nissan's 360 degree cameras, you can see your car from a bird's eye view.
I have a difficult time judging the length of my car when I'm turning in a tight space or trying to parallel park, but the cameras take away all of the guesswork for me.
Another wow feature is the ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link. In the adaptive cruise control mode, the car will use its navigation system to adjust your speed for different road conditions, whether it be a curve or traffic signs, Nissan's website says. It also keeps you in your lane, giving you an almost hands-free drive. Almost. Keep your hands on the wheel!

For those who value built-in safety features, you'll love the blind spot warning, rear automatic braking, and the automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. If someone walks behind your car and you didn't catch it, your Pathfinder will—and it will stop for you.
One of my personal favorite features is the speedometer projection onto the lane in front of you. Of course, it's not a real projection, but it looks like one. You'll be able to see your speed, the speed limit of the road you're driving on, and a notification when another car is in your blind spot. You can take in all of this information without looking up from the road, plus it just looks really cool.
There are many reasons to get behind the wheel of a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. Visit your local Nissan dealer today to test drive the latest model and customize your personal Pathfinder.
