CLEARFIELD — A 67-year-old man died after he was hit by a car that then left the scene in Clearfield Wednesday night, police said.
Witnesses told police the man was crossing Main Street from west to east near 500 North when he was hit by a northbound car about 9:30 p.m., according to a the Clearfield Police Department. There are no crosswalks in the area.
The man was taken to Davis Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition and later died. His name is not being released until family has been notified.
The car continued north on Main Street and then east on 650 North, witnesses said. Police describe it as possibly a cream-colored Cadillac and say it likely has front-end damage.
