WHERE THE FIRE IS SO DELIGHTFUL — This kid is convinced he's a superhero with fire powers, but the only thing he'll be warming today is your heart.

There's a magic in life that stems from the unrealistic but wholesome beliefs of children. Like the time I was at a theme park and my brother used the enchanting atmosphere to convince me gnomes were real. I was eight and should have known better, but golly gee he looked so truthful and sure I just had to believe him. Then when I said, "Really?! They're real?" he laughed hysterically and killed my innocence forever. Never again.

For most of us who have had our own excitement crushed by life, seeing kids believe wild and mystical things is infectious and positive, like the second-hand smoke of childhood magic. This little boy is a perfect example of that phenomenon, and it's sure to leave you grinning.

"Abracadabra!" he yells, throwing up his hands at the empty electric fireplace before him just in time to see it burst into flames.

"Woah! This is so cool! Abracadabra!" he continues, and the fire disappears. "That's cool!" he shouts

Then the camera pans over to a woman in bed, straight-faced and doubtlessly hiding a remote under the covers. The comedic timing is impeccable.

"That's you, you're doing it," the camera operator assures, and the little boy lights up with the realization.

"With superpowers?"

"Yeah!"

His arms go up towards heaven, "I didn't know I had superpowers!"

Then he's doing the Iron Man jet flying pose with sound effects, play fighting and giving a graceful toddler cartwheel faster than the eye can blink. It's not over until he strikes the perfect superhero pose and yells, "YA!" like the finishing move on Mortal Kombat.

"Woah," he says, walking back up to the fireplace, "Abracadabra!"

The flames roar back to life, and with another repetition of the magic word, they disappear.

"WOOOAH!" He bounces, then channels the perfect hilarity of children, "Hey, show Mama this."

This little boy's fire powers might not actually be real, but they're real enough to melt my jaded heart — and with any luck, they'll melt yours too.
