THE BIRDHOUSE — Growing up my family had a pet cat. His name was Otis, and he was the meanest feline I've ever come across.
Sure, cats are jerks, but this one took it to another level and was downright mean. Everyone in my family has at least one permanent scar from Otis, and he particularly liked to terrorize me. You may think I'm joking, but I'm not; he straight-up played mind games with me.
This giant orange tabby would wait for me to come out of my room and literally corner me at the back of the hallway. The only way out was through the cat, and he knew it. I'd learned my lesson once or twice by trying to sneak by him, and at the last second, that monster would pounce and bite me. I got to the point when I'd see him camped out I'd yell for my mom to come move the behemoth.
Otis was a bully and he's a big part of the reason I don't want a pet. But if I could have this raven as a pet then maybe I'd change my mind.
This is Loki and he's awesome. Elliot Manarin was given the bird a few years ago and through a lot of training these two have become best buds. Manarin says Loki will sometimes come in the house for a cuddle and even comforted him when he lost his mom.
So, Manarin gets this amazing raven who loves and comforts him and enjoys playing and I got Otis. Sometimes life just isn't fair.
