FIELDING, Box Elder County — Three people were transported to the hospital by ambulance, and one by helicopter after a vehicle crash on state Route 30 near Fielding, officials say.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Colton Freckleton said the accident occurred when a fatigued 18-year-old pickup truck driver ran through the median and hit a suburban traveling in the opposite direction.

The 50-year-old driver of the suburban taken to the hospital via medical helicopter in critical condition, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening, Freckleton said. The 18-year-old driver and two passengers, one from each car, were taken a hospital via ambulance.

The crash is under investigation and charges may be filed, Freckelton said.
