ARAGONITE, Tooele County — A 267-acre fire that threatened some structures in Tooele County on Thursday was extinguished within hours of being reported, federal and state fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info.
Both directions of I-80 were shut down in the area for about an hour due to the blaze, the freeway reopened by 5 p.m.
The fire, dubbed the Pacific Fire, was first reported just before 3:30 p.m. and was no longer impacting the roadway by 5 p.m.
By 6:30 p.m., the fire had been 85% contained and the cause is still investigation.
