WEST VALLEY CITY — A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man over the weekend, West Valley City police said Wednesday.
Police said the teen, whose name was not released, was booked on suspicion of homicide in relation to the fatal shooting at Kings Pointe Parks Saturday.
The shooting happened shortly after 6 p.m. that day after two groups confronted each other at the park, located at 1330 W. Rothchild Drive (3665 South), according to police.
Lewis Orlando Jensen, 18, was shot and later died at a hospital from his injuries.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Monday on suspicion of a riot offense, police said. They said a Violent Fugitive Apprehension Team and a metro gang unit assisted in arresting the 17-year-old suspected of shooting Jensen.
Details about what sparked the confrontation and the shooting weren't released.
