MIDVALE — A 60-year-old man was critically injured in an auto-pedestrian crash on Tuesday night, Unified police confirmed.

He was taking out the trash when a vehicle struck him. UPD Sgt. Melody Gray said the vehicle didn’t see the man because of the sun.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. at 628 W. Heather Street and the man was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

Gray said the man’s injuries weren’t believed to be life-threatening.
