KANARRAVILLE, Iron County — No signs of foul play were found in connection to a body discovered in Kanarraville on Saturday, authorities said Thursday.
According to Iron County Sheriff’s officials, cold weather appeared to play a role in the 22-year-old man’s death.
With the help of Utah Highway Patrol troopers, authorities were able to identify the man. His car had been found abandoned and crashed about 2 miles from the Hamilton Fort Interchange on I-15 during a snowstorm on Feb. 9.
Due to the condition of the body and other evidence, sheriff’s officials said it appears the man left the vehicle to walk toward Kanaraville and died from the extreme winter conditions.
Authorities haven’t released the Taylorsville man’s name, pending notification to family.
