UNDATED (AP) — Police in Utah say a boy opened fire inside a home, killing three children and a woman. The shooting happened Friday night in Grantsville, a town of 11,000 west of Salt Lake City. Police officials say the juvenile suspect was arrested at a nearby hospital after someone drove him and a fifth shooting victim there. They say that person is in stable condition with a gunshot wound and is expected to survive. Investigators believe the victims are all related to one another. Authorities have not released any identities and say they don't yet know the motive for the shooting.

BEIJING (AP) — Seventeen more people in central China have been diagnosed with a new form of viral pneumonia that has killed two patients and placed other countries on alert. In total, 62 cases of the novel coronavirus have been identified in the city of Wuhan, where the virus appears to have originated. The Wuhan Municipal Health Commission reported the new cases Sunday. Nineteen of those individuals have been discharged from the hospital, while two men in their 60s — one with severe preexisting conditions — have died from the illness. At least a half-dozen countries in Asia and three U.S. airports have started screening incoming airline passengers from central China as millions of Chinese travel for Lunar New Year holidays.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — An unprecedented show of force by gun-rights activists is expected on Monday in Virginia. They are angry over the state's new Democratic majority leadership and its plans to enact a slew of gun restrictions. Thousands of gun activists are expected to turn out. Second Amendment groups have identified the state as a rallying point for the fight against what they see as a national erosion of gun rights. Authorities in Virginia are taking precautions since extremist groups have blanketed social media and online forums with ominous messages and hinted at potential violence.

CHICAGO (AP) — A winter storm that dumped snow and sleet on the Midwest and Plains is creating travel headaches after airlines canceled flights and officials shut down major roads. The storm system began moving through the Plains and Midwest on Friday, leading to trouble at airports in Chicago and Kansas City. It's expected to spread to the Northeast through Saturday evening. Blizzard conditions with powerful winds have been reported in some areas. Officials in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa say blowing snow is making it nearly impossible to see in some areas. Stretches of highway in the Dakotas and Wyoming have been shut down.

NEW YORK (AP) — Federal immigration officials are turning to a new tactic in the fight over New York City's so-called sanctuary policies. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued four subpoenas Friday for information about inmates wanted for deportation. The move came hours after the agency's acting director blamed the city's sanctuary policies for the sexual assault and killing of a 92-year-old woman in Queens. The agency sent similar requests to the city of Denver this week and says it's considering expanding the practice to other jurisdictions that refuse to share information with immigration officials.
