OREM — A 64-year-old man was killed on Thursday after an industrial accident, police said.

Emergency crews were dispatched to a residential area near 500 S. Carterville Road after receiving a report of a person stuck under the bed of a dump truck, Orem police said in a Facebook post. Police first reported the incident shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday.

When emergency response crews arrived, they found a man pinned under the bed and frame of the truck. They were able to lift the bed and found the man had died from his injuries.

Orem police on Friday identified the man as Dave Olsen. He was doing repairs in the truck when he became pinned, police said.

"The Orem Police Department offers our condolences to the family of Mr. Olsen and request the privacy of the family while they mourn," the agency said in the Facebook post.
