WASHINGTON CITY — A Las Vegas man has died from his injuries after a vehicle plowed into an In-N-Out Burger restaurant on Saturday afternoon.
Antonio Mendoza was seated inside the restaurant when the vehicle ran into the dining room about 2:45 p.m. Seven total people were injured in the crash; four were taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center via ambulance, and three more took themselves, according to a statement from Washington City Police Lt. Kory Klotz.
According to witness reports, the vehicle first struck a pedestrian in the parking lot before accelerating into the restaurant itself.
“The restaurant sustained significant damage and remains closed pending repairs to the structure,” Klotz said.
Police ask any witnesses who have not provided a statement already to contact them at 435-986-1515.
“We send our condolences to the Mendoza family, and hope for a full recovery to the others involved,” Klotz said.
Klotz told St. George News on Saturday that an elderly couple was in the SUV and that both were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
