BOX OFFICE
LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Frozen 2” shows no signs of cooling off at the box office. The remake of the popular Disney ice princess saga has set a Thanksgiving record. It took in $85.3 million in the U.S. and Canada. Meanwhile, it collected $132.7 million from Wednesday through Sunday, meaning more than a few people decided to hit both the mall and the multiplex. Number two over the weekend was “Knives Out,” followed by “Ford v Ferrari.”

VETERAN ACTRESS SHELLY MORRISON DIES
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Stars of “Will & Grace” are paying tribute to a former cast member who has passed away. Shelly Morrison died yesterday at a Los Angeles hospital. Her publicist, Lori De Waal, says Morrison’s heart failed after a brief illness. Morrison played Rosario Salazar, a maid from El Salvador, on the original run of “Will & Grace,” which began on NBC in 1999 and ran for seven years. Eric McCormack, who starred as Will, tweeted Morrison was a “beautiful soul” and a wonderful actor. Debra Messing, who played Grace, says though Morrison had a long career, “she will always be our dear Rosie.” And Sean Hayes said on Instagram that Morrison was “absolutely hilarious and had the biggest heart.”
IRVING BURGIE, “DAY-O” COMPOSER, DIES AT 95
NEW YORK (AP) — The song was written way back in 1952 — but remains popular to this day. The man who composed the song “Day-O” — or “The Banana Boat Song” has died. His name: Irving Burgie — and with that song and others helped popularize Caribbean music. When a bunch of big stars recorded “We Are the World” in 1985, many sang the song together, along with Harry Belafonte, whose recording first made the tune popular. It was recently used in an E-Trade commercial and was featured in both the film and Broadway versions of “Beetlejuice.” Lil’ Wayne sampled it in his song “6 Foot 7 Foot” and it was twice used as wakeup music for Space Shuttle astronauts.

ROD STEWART - INTO “TRAINING”
LONDON (AP) — It’s probably one of the last things you’d think Rod Stewart would be into. The legendary rock star is heavily involved with building model railroads. So much so, that one of his projects has gotten him a write-up in a British magazine dedicated to those who make model railways. Stewart has done a mock-up of an American city in the mid 1940’s — think a blend of New York and Chicago. And he put in most of the work himself, save for some electrical and computer stuff. Stewart says he’s pleased with the details his model rail town has. Stewart says he got into all this because he lived near a rail line — and was always fascinated by trains.
BRAD PAISLEY SAYS THE JOKES ARE ON HIM
NEW YORK (AP) — Brad Paisley is a seriously successful country music star. But he says most of the time, he’s seriously funny. And should you doubt that, he says you can check out his TV show tomorrow night. In the ABC broadcast “Brad Paisley Thinks He's Special," Paisley doesn’t mind being made the butt of jokes. He appears in a series of sketches with celebrity pals like Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood and former NFL star Peyton Manning, who’s a bit of a jokester himself. He says when lining up talent for the special, he had to remind his guests that they were there to poke fun at him — and he says they all went along with that.
LORI LOUGHLIN’S DAUGHTER RETURNS TO YOUTUBE AFTER HIATUS
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Olivia Jade is back on YouTube. But don’t expect the daughter of Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli to be talking about the scandal that dragged her, her sister and her parents into the spotlight. She says she will have nothing to say about the college admissions scandal in which her folks are charged with paying half a million dollars to get their daughters into USC as recruits for the crew team. Neither of them had ever rowed. Olivia Jade made herself scarce online after the scandal broke. It also cost her ad deals with two of her sponsors.
GABRIELLE UNION - “AGT”
LOS ANGELES (AP) — NBC is denying allegations by Gabrielle Union that the network tolerated racist jokes and comments behind the scenes on the show “America’s Got Talent.” Union has said her complaints about what happened on the show had been ignored by the network and the company that produced “America’s Got Talent.” Union also claims that the network let co-star and producer Simon Cowell smoke inside the studio, a violation of California state law. Meanwhile, while not confirming reports that she was fired from the show, Union is expressing appreciation for those who have supported her since reports that she and Julianne Hough were let go after just one season on AGT.
LEONARDO DiCAPRIO - AMAZON
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Leonardo DiCaprio is denying allegations from the president of Brazil. Jair Bolsonaro says the actor and environmental activist helped bankroll nonprofit groups that set fire to part of the Amazon — to help gain support for their cause. Bolsonaro offered no evidence to back his claim. Brazilian officials have engaged in a government campaign to undermine environmental nonprofits operating in the country. They have also denied evidence of climate change.
LOUIS C.K. PERFORMS IN ISRAEL
HOLON, Israel (AP) — Louis C.K. is continuing efforts to rehabilitate his comedy career. And his latest efforts have taken him overseas, where he has been doing an international tour. He made a stop last week in a suburb of Tel Aviv, Israel. He acknowledged that he engaged in sexual misconduct with a series of women. And he says the past two years since he was called out under the #MeToo movement were like eating alone in a restaurant — while someone at another table flipped the bird at him through the entire meal.
PLACIDO DOMINGO DISPUTES SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLAIMS
MADRID (AP) — Placido Domingo is blaming his Spanish heritage for the sexual harassment allegations that women have made against him. The opera legend tells a Spanish online newspaper that allegations reported by The Associated Press several months ago have been a “nightmare” for him. In the interview, Domingo claims he never behaved improperly, saying he, as a Spaniard, has been “warm,” “affectionate,” “loving” and “gallant.” But he says these days such “gallant gestures are viewed differently.” Since the allegations, U.S. opera houses have canceled Domingo’s shows. But he has continued to work in Europe.
