CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming man who fired a gun inside a hospital while he was high on LSD has been sentenced to six to nine years in prison.
The Casper Star-Tribune reported 20-year-old Mitchell D. Taylor was sentenced Wednesday for two counts of aggravated assault and one count of property damage.
Taylor testified he drove to the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper seeking help with the effects of the drug March 4.
Authorities say Taylor pointed a gun at two employees and fired seven times, missing both workers but damaging facility property.
Taylor faced a maximum 30-year sentence.
His defense attorney requested one year in jail and up to five years of probation, while the Natrona County district attorney asked for six to 10 years in prison.
