EDEN — A 51-year-old man was killed Friday evening after a crash that appears to be caused by a possible brake malfunction, according to Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Cortney Ryan.
The man was driving a cement truck downhill at 6:42 p.m. on Highway 158, also known as Powder Mountain Road, when investigators think the truck experienced some sort of mechanical failure, causing it to go off the road, Ryan said.
The truck hit the hillside and rolled, killing the driver on scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the fatal crash and the driver’s identity was not released.
