WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Police say a suspect is in custody in connection with a shooting in West Valley City that left one woman dead and a teenage boy injured. West Valley Police say 38-year-old Jayson Rue Chase has been booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of murder and other charges. Police say it appears the victims were in a car with Chase when shots were fired. A 15-year-old boy suffered a shoulder wound and a 34-year-old woman was dead in the car's back seat with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Kids are honing their business savvy at entrepreneur fairs in Utah after a legal change that allowed children to run a business without a license or permit. The Herald Journal reports a libertarian think-tank holds the markets for kids ages 5 to 16 in 11 cities across Utah.
HUNTSVILLE, Utah (AP) — A pickup truck went off a northern Utah dirt road and rolled multiple times while plunging into a ravine and ejecting its seven occupants early Saturday, killing two people and injuring at least four. The Weber County Sheriff's Office said deputies responding to a 911 call early Saturday found it about 160 feet off the road near the unincorporated community of Huntsville.
HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah (AP) — Combat aircraft and support personnel from Hill Air Force Base in Utah are conducting training in several European countries. Hill officials said the readiness exercise includes having F-35As land, refuel and re-arm with dummy munitions at forward airfields in Poland and conduct operations in Lithuania and Estonia on the same day.
