ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — The Spectrum in southern Utah has a new top editor who has been with the newspaper for more than a decade.

The Spectrum reports Andrew DeMille started with the newspaper in 2007 and reported on politics, local government and the environment before assuming a leadership role as content strategist.

He replaces Melissa Galbraith, who became executive editor in February 2018. She came to the newspaper from the Arizona Republic in Phoenix, and is leaving for a role with USA Today.

DeMille will oversee publications that cover St. George and Cedar City in Utah as well as Mesquite, Nevada.

He previously covered sports for the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News and is a graduate of Southern Utah University.
