HERRIMAN, Utah (AP) — Authorities say three people have been found dead inside a car that crashed into a ravine in Herriman.

KSL-TV in Salt Lake City reports that a passer-by noticed a vehicle in a ditch off of Herriman Highway late Sunday afternoon.

Herriman police officers responded.

Additional crews were called to help pull three victims, who all appeared to be adults, from the vehicle.

Police Lt. Cody Stromberg says it's likely the car had already been in the ravine for several hours.

He says there are no signs another car was involved.

Investigators have not yet determined the age and gender of the three people. Stromberg says they are still trying to figure out the cause of the crash.
