ROME, Pa. (AP) — Police say a couple baby-sitting children for six days forced a girl to drink dog urine, knocked her brother unconscious and caused them injuries that required hospitalization.
State police on Wednesday arrested Towanda, Pennsylvania, residents Jakayo Scott Frye and Shyann Marie Hills, both 22 years old, and charged them with dozens of crimes, including aggravated assault.
The victims are a 9-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother.
Police allege Frye and Hills struck the children with fists and had other children hit them. They allege the girl was tied to a dog cage with a belt and tied to cabinet handles by the wrist and beaten.
Frye and Hills are in jail. Court documents don't list defense lawyers.
The alleged abuse occurred last week in Rome, near the New York border.
