LONDON (AP) — British police have arrested a man and a woman following the discovery of a baby's body in woods in the north of England.
The 48-year-old man and 33-year-old woman are in custody on suspicion of murdering the infant, concealing a birth and preventing a burial.
The girl's body was discovered by a dog walker in in Heywood, near Manchester, on April 4. She was named Pearl by the investigating detectives.
Detective Supt. Lewis Hughes, who is leading the investigation, said Wednesday it is an "incredibly heart-breaking case for everyone involved."
