SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a light-rail train near Millcreek.
Utah Transit Authority officials say the incident occurred about 10 p.m. Monday about 500 yards south of the Millcreek station.
The name of the victim hasn't been released yet, but authorities say the person was in their mid-30s.
Transit authority officials tell the Deseret News that pedestrians walking near TRAX trains need to be aware of their surroundings.
The TRAX light rail system serves Salt Lake City and many of its suburbs throughout Salt Lake County.
