PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — A conservation organization is trying to raise $6 million to preserve about 828,000 square feet (77,000 square meters) of land known as Snow Ranch Pastures for cattle and cranes and prevent it from being developed like so much other land in the ski town of Park City. The Deseret News reports property owners Kerry and Mel Armstrong could get $16 million for the property, but have agreed to drop the price and have the property placed in a conservation easement so it will never be developed.
DRAPER, Utah (AP) — An electric vehicle corridor has been established along Utah's most traveled freeway. KSL-TV reports that Rocky Mountain Power partnered with the Utah Clean Air Partnership and Maverik gas stations to complete the corridor along Interstate 15 and more than 350 charging stations statewide.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Federal land managers are expanding fire restrictions to counties in central Utah, meaning all public land administered by the Bureau of Land Management will soon be under fire restrictions. The federal agency announced Saturday that the expanded restrictions will take effect Sunday. A significant portion of the state has been grappling with at least some form of drought since the beginning of the year and red flag conditions have raised the threat of wildfire.
NEW YORK (AP) — Police in Portland, Oregon, have ordered participants in a march by Patriot Prayer to disperse after officers saw assaults and projectiles being thrown. Police said Saturday that some arrests have been made at the downtown protest involving immigration. The problems occurred as two opposing protest groups _ Patriot Prayer and antifa _ took to the streets.
