LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a toddler has died in northern Utah after being hit by a car in a driveway.
The Herald-Journal in Logan reports that the incident occurred Tuesday night in Newton, a small town northwest of Logan. Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Mikelshan Bartsch said it appears from the initial investigation that a family member hit the toddler.
A deputy who was a few blocks away raced to the house but the child was unconscious. The toddler died at a nearby hospital.
Bartschi described the incident as a tragic accident.
Officials declined to identify the toddler until family members had been notified.
