BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Emmett officials say one person died in a house fire.

Emmett City Fire Chief Curt Christensen says crews responded to the Thursday house fire within minutes, but were not able to reach the person who lived at the residence.

KTVB-TV reports a dog was found alive in the home and is being treated.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Officials have not released the name of the deceased person pending notification to next of kin.
