SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors are charging a 37-year-old Utah man with felony child abuse, saying he knocked down and fractured the elbow of a 13-year-old boy during a broom hockey game.

Davis County prosecutors on Tuesday accused Ryan Reed Stettler of recklessly inflicting serious physical injury on a child during a game at a Woods Cross church on March 6.

Police say the 13-year-old ran into Stettler's son during the game. Afterwards, Stettler allegedly lowered his shoulder, ran into the boy and knocked him down.

The boy told police that Stettler then said, "You can dish it out but you can't take it."

The boy went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a concussion and fractured elbow.

Prosecutors did not identify the 13-year-old.

No lawyer was listed for Stettler. He was unable to be reached for comment.
