OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Sarah Sellers, an Ogden native who came out of nowhere to finish second at the Boston Marathon, is turning her attention to qualifying for the 2020 Olympics. The Standard-Examiner reports the Ogden High School and Weber State graduate, who now works as a nurse in Tucson, Arizona, qualified for the Olympic trials with a time of just over two hours and 44 minutes earlier this month at the famed marathon. The trials will be held in February 2020 in advance of the Summer Olympics.

DRAPER, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a Utah State Prison inmate remains hospitalized after being beaten and stabbed at an outdoor prison yard. Unified police say the 37-year-old man is in serious condition and expected to survive. His name hasn't been released. Police say the man was wounded Saturday and three other inmates suspected of taking part in the attack are being interviewed. The prison houses 4,500 inmates and is located in Draper, which is 16 miles (26 kilometers) south of Salt Lake City.

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a man is dead after he lost control of his motorcycle in Taylorsville. Police say the accident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The name of the 30-year-old man is being withheld until his family has been notified. Unified police say the motorcyclist wasn't wearing a helmet and died at the scene. The Deseret News reports that witnesses say speed was a factor in the fatal crash.

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Weber County authorities say a Lake City man is accused of burglary and other crimes after a woman found him sleeping in a recliner the living room in her cabin. The Standard-Examiner reports that Thomas Luke Shupe was arrested April 24 after he ran away from the cabin when the woman woke him up and asked him for identification.
