MURRAY, Utah (AP) — Authorities have identified a man who died after being struck by several vehicles while attempting to cross a Utah interstate.
KSL-TV reports Utah Highway Patrol says Ismail Ibrahim Hissein Abdallah was traveling south on I-15 at approximately 1:15 a.m. Saturday when he veered to the right and hit the concrete barrier on the freeway then veered back to the left, hitting the barrier on the left side of the road.
Abdallah then got out of the car and tried to run across the freeway but instead was hit by multiple cars.
Abdallah died at the scene.
Utah Highway Patrol says investigators discovered Abdallah's car came into contact with a second vehicle prior to him veering and hitting the concrete barrier.
Investigators are working to identify the second vehicle and its driver.
