QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) — A New York man who killed a mother and her 4-year-old daughter last summer will spend 44 years to life in prison.
The Post-Star says Bryan M. Redden apologized and asked for forgiveness Thursday in Warren County Court.
Crystal Riley and her daughter, Lilly Frasier, were stabbed and strangled in their Glens Falls home.
In court, Riley's mother, MaryEllen Monroe, described them as beautiful, kind, selfless and loving.
The defense said Redden had a history of psychiatric problems and substance abuse.
However, the prosecution said the evidence did not seem to show that Redden was highly intoxicated.
Redden washed his hands, took off blood-stained clothes and ransacked the home. Then he drove Riley's car around, ate Chinese food and called an acquaintance to ask if she wanted to have sex.
