SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A teenage baby sitter is under arrest in the death of a Utah toddler.

West Valley City police said Wednesday the 17-year-old male was watching the boy when emergency crews were called to the house on a report of an unconscious child.

Jaycieion Sanchez died soon after he was taken to a hospital. Police say 21-month-old child had multiple injuries that didn't fit with the teenager's explanation of what happened.

West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku says a second child was also at the house.

Police say the teen had babysat for the boy before, but she didn't know how often. The teen's name was not immediately released.

The baby's mother tells KUTV she'll never forget the boy or stop pursuing justice.
