CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — A Clemson University student has been found dead in his off-campus residence.

News outlets report the university said in a news release that 19-year-old Bowen Paul Ellis, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, was found dead Saturday afternoon.

Dean of Students Chris Miller says Ellis' roommates found him unresponsive at their apartment.

Clemson City Police Deputy Chief Jeff Stone said officers responded to the call about 4:45 p.m. and contacted the Pickens County Coroner's Office shortly thereafter. Stone says the coroner's office is expected to release autopsy findings later this week.

Ellis was a sophomore majoring in forest resource management.
