DENVER (AP) — The Trump administration is asking a federal appeals court in Denver to hold off on a decision regarding a major fracking rule implemented by the Obama administration. Trump wants to roll back the rule that would require drilling companies to disclose what chemicals they've used for fracking. The rule was put on hold last year when a Wyoming judge said the Bureau of Land Management had no authority to set it.

PINEDALE, Wyo. (AP) — A former sheriff in western Wyoming who was removed from office for engaging in misconduct or malfeasance has been sentenced to nine months in a community corrections program. KPIN Radio in Pinedale reports former Sublette County sheriff Stephen Haskell was sentenced to the work release program Thursday. Prosecutors say he billed the county more than $11,000 for uniforms he bought before he took office in January 2015 and later misrepresented the timing of the purchases.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming man convicted of multiple sexual crimes will serve up to 75 years in prison. The Natrona County Sheriff's Office began investigating Joshua McCullough on December 9 after staff at the Wyoming Medical Center reported that an 11-year-old girl said he had sex with her.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Residents in southeast Wyoming can return home as firefighters make progress on a fire burning in the Medicine Bow National Forest. The small communities of Keystone, Rambler, Lake Creek and Moores Gulch had been forced to evacuate earlier this month because of the fire.
