PROVO — During his two seasons at BYU, James Dye carved out a piece of Cougar football history with his electrifying punt and kickoff returns.

From 1995-96, Dye set a school record for best career punt return average — 19.8 yards per attempt — that still stands. He also holds the BYU record for most touchdowns on punt returns with four, tied with Golden Richards. Those punt returns for touchdowns covered 90, 84, 79 and 67 yards, respectively.
