OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Phoenix, a 5-year-old golden eagle, leaps from perch to perch in his enclosure. He does it with a brace on his left foot. On June 21, 2012, Phoenix was critically injured in the Saratoga Springs Utah Dump Fire. Too young to fly, Phoenix suffered third-degree burns. Kent Keller, a licensed Utah eagle bander, found the badly burned eagle chick and took him to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Northern Utah. The Standard-Examiner reports the center is keeping Phoenix as an educational bird.

PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — Park City has launched one of the country's first fully electric bike-share programs. City officials say the first phase of the program will support 88 new pedal-assisted e-bikes. The Deseret News reports the bikes will initially be available at nine charging stations throughout Park City and the Snyderville Basin. The bikes feature a pedal-assisted lithium battery that feels like the cruise-control on a car going up a hill, adding the powered assistance with each rotation of the pedals

PROVO, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shooting at a Provo home. Provo police say 22-year-old Caleb Plainer was taken into custody after Friday night's shooting. It remains unclear if Plainer has a lawyer. Police say 22-year-old Robbie Heiner was shot in the chest while visiting the home and fled to a neighbor's house for help after being shot. The shooting reportedly followed a dispute over a gun. Police say a weapon has been recovered from the scene

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Saguaro National Park in southern Arizona is getting part of a pot of federal and private money for maintenance and infrastructure work at U.S. national parks. The Interior Department says Saguaro is to receive over $215,000, nearly evenly split as coming from the federal government and from several private sources, including the Friends of Saguaro National Park and the Western National Park Association.
