World markets mixed ... NAFTA stays in place - for now ... Nintendo Switch selling well

HONG KONG (AP) — World stock indexes were mixed today as investors assessed the scant details of President Donald Trump's U.S. tax overhaul. U.S. shares are poised to open slightly higher. Dow futures rose less than 0.1 percent to 20,922.00 and broader S&P 500 futures were up a fifth of a percent at 2,382.60.

NEW YORK (AP) — Benchmark U.S. crude oil fell 63 cents to $48.99 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract rose 6 cents to settle at $49.62 a barrel on Wednesday. Brent crude, which is used to price international oils, fell 59 cents to $51.82.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has told the leaders of Mexico and Canada that he will not pull out of the North American Free Trade Agreement at this time. The surprise announcement on NAFTA came just hours after administration officials said Trump was considering a draft executive order to do just that.

TOKYO (AP) — Nintendo Co. says its new Switch, a hybrid game machine that works as both a console and a tablet, is selling well. That's helping the Kyoto-based company behind the Super Mario and Pokemon franchises trim its quarterly losses. Nintendo says it has sold 2.74 million Switch machines and 5.46 million units of Switch software since sales began in March.

DALLAS (AP) — United Airlines says it will raise the limit — to $10,000 — on payments to customers who give up seats on oversold flights and will increase training for employees. United has been dealing with fallout from the video of a passenger being violently dragged from his seat. United is also vowing to reduce, but not eliminate, overbooking.
