Lt. Brian Lohrke told the Deseret News three of the four were documented gang members but investigators haven't determined whether the killing was gang-related.
He said the teens appeared to have bene "flopping" at one of the apartment units on 1094 W. Clubhouse Drive on the border of West Valley city and Taylorsville.
All four were questioned and released to their guardians.
