WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The New York attorney general's office says Donald Trump will have to hold off dismantling his charitable foundation until state prosecutors finish investigating it. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has been looking into whether Trump personally benefited from his foundation's spending. The president-elect has announced plans to dissolve the Donald J. Trump Foundation before he takes office Jan. 20.
JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel says it has proof from Arab sources that the U.S. actively helped craft a U.N. resolution that declared Israeli settlements illegal. A spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel has "ironclad information" that the White House helped draft the language of the resolution and "pushed hard" for its passage. Passage of the resolution has infuriated Israel.
SOCHI, Russia (AP) — Russia's top investigative agency says it has taken samples from a tank used to fuel the Russian military plane that crashed in the Black Sea. The Investigative Committee says the fuel samples are being analyzed. Investigators have been looking into the possibility that bad fuel caused Sunday's crash, which killed all 92 people on the plane.
CABOT, Vt. (AP) — One of the people killed in Sunday's crash of a Russian military plane was married to a Vermont lawyer. The 54-year-old doctor, Yelizaveta Glinka, was on her way to Syria to deliver medicine to a hospital. Her husband, Gleb Glinka, is a co-founder of a Rutland, Vermont, law firm and remains a managing partner of its Moscow office. The couple had a home in Cabot and had also lived in nearby Marshfield.
WASHINGTON (AP) — A Washington, D.C., woman missing since Christmas has been found dead. Police say Tricia McCauley was found dead in her car with signs of trauma to her body, and a suspect is in custody. The 46-year-old yoga teacher was last seen alive on Sunday afternoon. Media outlets report that she failed to show up for a Christmas dinner with friends on Sunday and then missed a flight to visit family yesterday.
