CHICAGO (AP) — It'll be a white Christmas and treacherous driving for many in the northern Plains and some Western states. Much of the Dakotas is under a blizzard warning for tomorrow and Monday. The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy snow and strong winds. To the east, parts of central Minnesota are under an ice storm warning. Snow is also forecast for much of Idaho, Montana, Utah and northeast Colorado.

MILAN (AP) — Arrests and investigations continue around Europe and North Africa today into the Berlin Christmas market attack. Italian police killed the primary suspect early Friday in a shootout in Milan. Tunisia now says it's arrested Anis Amri's nephew and two others suspected of belonging to the same extremist network. Meanwhile, Spain's Interior Minister says police are investigating whether Amri was in contact with another possible extremist in Spain.

BEIRUT (AP) — Syrian state TV says a bomb left inside a school by Syrian rebels has exploded in eastern Aleppo. The blast occurred as some residents were returning to their homes after the government assumed full control of the city earlier this week. Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights say fresh airstrikes today on a rebel-held town near Aleppo has killed at least five people.

LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) — Nigeria's president says Boko Haram (BOH'-koh hah-RAHM') has finally been crushed. President Muhammadu Buhari (moo-HAH'-mah-doo boo-HAH'-ree) says the extremist group has been driven from its last forest stronghold in the country's northeast and its fighters are now on the run with no place to hide. The Sambisa (sam-BEE'-zuh) Forest is believed to be where Boko Haram has been holding more than 200 schoolgirls it kidnapped in April 2014 from a school in the town of Chibok (chih-BAWK').

UNDATED (AP) — It's an NFL Saturday. The league has a nearly full 12-game schedule this day before Christmas. The early starts have Minnesota at Green Bay, Atlanta at Carolina, Washington at Chicago and Tennessee at Jacksonville. The Patriots host the New York Jets in Foxborough, Massachusetts, while San Diego visits Cleveland and Miami ventures north to Buffalo.
