SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Avalanche Center says the avalanche danger in the western Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah and that an avalanche warning remains in effect in the area.
The center also says dangerous avalanche conditions still exist in the backcountry across the mountains of central and northern Utah.
According to the center, large and potentially deadly human-triggered avalanches are likely on upper elevation slopes steeper than about 30 degrees.
The center advises backcountry travelers to stay off and out from under steep slopes and to avoid avalanche runout zones.
