ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — An Arizona man has pleaded guilty to doing $10,000 in damage to Hildale property that once belonged to polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs. The Spectrum & Daily News reports that 23-year-old Oliver William Darger of Colorado City acknowledged he illegally entered and vandalized the 6-acre property near the Utah-Arizona border.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — New state health data shows cavities have been found in the mouths of nearly two in three Utah children who are 6 to 9 years old _ up from about half the last time the study was done in 2010. The Deseret News reports almost 1,900 first through fourth graders were included in the Utah Department of Health survey between September 2015 and January.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah lawmaker says he will sponsor legislation to get rid of the universal vote-by-mail system in most of the state's counties. State Rep. Craig Hall says he wants to go back to the way elections used to be, when voters could request a mail-in or absentee ballot. Hall is a Republican from West Valley City, which saw some of the longest polling lines. The vote-by-mail program was in place in 21 of the Utah's 29 counties this year.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Two separate multi-vehicle crashes in the Salt Lake City area sent nine people to hospitals. Authorities say three people were critically injured in a two-vehicle accident in Salt Lake City while six others were hospitalized after an eight-vehicle crash in Taylorsville earlier Saturday.
