SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah teenager accused of stabbing five random classmates in a high school locker room has been charged with attempted murder. Prosecutors say he brought a martial arts weapon and knives with him that day and had plans to kill people. The victims survived the Nov. 15 attack in Orem. The teen is charged as a juvenile. The suspect's lawyer declined to comment.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah businessman convicted of fraud for stealing $24 million from the retirement accounts of about 5,400 people will serve 10 years in prison. U.S. District Judge David Nuffer on Tuesday sentenced Curtis DeYoung and ordered him to repay millions he stole.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former Tooele County high school football coach previously charged with misdemeanor sexual battery and lewdness is now facing felony sexual assault charges. The Deseret News reports that Curtis Lee Ware was charged over the weekend with forcible sodomy, sexual exploitation of a minor, among other crimes.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Salt Lake Tribune has promoted political and investigative reporter Matt Canham to managing editor. The newspaper reports that Tribune Editor Jennifer Napier-Pearce made the announcement Tuesday while also informing staff they'll be getting a pay raise. She also announced political reporter Robert Gehrke will become a columnist. Longtime columnist Paul Rolly will keep his column while also mentoring young journalists.
