WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump's selection of former Breitbart News head Steven Bannon -- who is celebrated by white nationalists -- is drawing sharp criticism. The Anti-Defamation League says the Breitbart website "trafficked in some of the worst tropes" against Jews and other minorities, "particularly Mexicans and Muslims." Meanwhile, a coalition of major civil rights group says it will closely monitor Trump policies and actions.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says he'll encourage President-elect Donald Trump to allow immigrants who came to the country as children to remain in the U.S. The young immigrants, known as DREAMers, were granted legal status under a 2012 Obama executive order. Speaking at the White House, Obama said the majority of Americans would not want the young people, who include college students and service members, to "start hiding again."

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The tabulations are finally done and certified in New Hampshire, where Hillary Clinton won the state's four Electoral College votes. Clinton won by about 2,700 votes, less than 1 percent. Trump's edge in the Electoral College now stands at 290 to 232, with only Michigan still to be called by The Associated Press.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — International Criminal Court prosecutors say that a preliminary probe indicates that members of the United States armed forces and the CIA may have committed war crimes by torturing detainees in Afghanistan. A report issued today says that U.S. armed forces personnel "appear to have subjected at least 61 detained persons to torture" in Afghanistan, mainly in 2003-2004.

NEW YORK (AP) — PBS "NewsHour" co-anchor Gwen Ifill (EYE'-ful) has died of cancer. Ifill, who was 61, was a former reporter for The New York Times, The Washington Post and NBC News before moving to PBS as host of "Washington Week." Ifill hosted two vice presidential debates. The NewHour's executive producer says Ifill was "a standard bearer for courage, fairness and integrity in an industry going through seismic change."
