NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump says he would accept a fence in some places along the U.S. southern border where he had promised to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. The president-elect also told CBS' "60 Minutes" he's willing to deport or incarcerate 2 million to 3 million people in the country illegally who "are criminal and have criminal records."

NEW YORK (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump says he's been receiving congratulatory phone calls from a number of his former rivals, including Jeb Bush, John Kasich and Mitt Romney. And Trump tweeted that he received calls from former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Leon Russell, who sang, wrote and produced some of rock and roll's top records, has died in Nashville. He was 74. Russell recorded hit songs himself like "Tight Rope" and "Lady Blue." In 2011, Russell was chosen for induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

NEW YORK (AP) — Movies did boffo box office over the weekend, possibly because of moviegoers drained by the drama of the presidential election. Marvel's "Doctor Strange" led the North American box office for the second week with $43 million, according to studio estimates. The animated film "Trolls" also held well in its second week with $35.1 million.

DAKAR, Senegal (AP) — A former British police officer hopes to make history by swimming every mile of the Atlantic Ocean from Africa to South America. After more than three years of preparation, Ben Hooper set off today. The 38-year-old walked down a beach in Dakar and into the Atlantic Ocean, launching a planned swim of 1,635 nautical miles.
