JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Teton County Search and Rescue is now a new member of the International Commission for Alpine Rescue.

The group says the Teton County organization was awarded a Type A membership, which recognizes the team as a rescue organization of national or regional importance that covers all aspects of mountain rescue.

The team is one of only a few Search and Rescue organizations in the United States to be accepted as a member of the International Commission for Alpine Rescue.

Chief adviser and volunteer Tim Ciocarlan tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide (http://bit.ly/2epwe82 ) that Teton County Search and Rescue volunteers have worked hard for international recognition.
