ORANGE, Mass. (AP) — A woman whose 95-year-old husband was killed when they were attacked in their Massachusetts home also has died from her injuries.

Witty's Funeral Home says 77-year-old Joanna Fisher died Thursday at a hospital.

Fisher and Thomas Harty were attacked at their home in Orange by two people on Oct. 5. Authorities say Harty was stabbed and Fisher's throat was cut.

Police charged 23-year-old Joshua Hart and 27-year-old Brittany Smith with murder and other crimes.

Hart and Smith are from Athol (ATH'-uhl), a short drive from where the home invasion happened. They've pleaded not guilty.

Authorities say Hart and Smith were looking for a car and money so they could leave the state and avoid charges in an unrelated case. They were arrested days after the home invasion outside a Wal-Mart in Rockbridge County, Virginia.
