WASHINGTON (AP) — It's been an emotional night for Donald Trump. At a rally in Hershey, Pennsylvania, he was joined onstage by the parents of a 19-year-old supporter from New Jersey who died in a recent accident. Hugh Riley Rone died over Memorial Day weekend in a motorcycle crash on the Garden State Parkway. Trump described Rone as "the biggest supporter I had" and invited his parents onstage to speak about the young man he called "our boy."
WASHINGTON (AP) — A star-studded group of hip-hop artists is joining Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at a get-out-the-vote concert in Cleveland tonight. The free concert is part of a series put on by Clinton's campaign to drum up enthusiasm for her presidential bid. Rapper Jay Z, his wife, Beyoncé, along with friends Chance the Rapper and Big Sean are performing.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Documents from 20 years ago show that Melania Trump was paid for 10 modeling jobs in the U.S. worth $20,056 before she had legal permission to work in the country. Melania Trump has said she followed all immigration laws as she moved from Slovenia to New York in August 1996 and obtained a work visa about seven weeks later. It's highly unlikely that the discovery will affect the status of Mrs. Trump. She's been a citizen since July 2006.
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — The Democratic mayor of Fort Lee, New Jersey, who was targeted in the George Washington Bridge lane-closing case says he's relieved justice prevailed. Two former allies of Republican Gov. Chris Christie were convicted today of shutting down lanes to the bridge in a plot to punish the mayor for not endorsing him. Christie, who denies playing any role in the affair, says the jury held the two aides responsible for "their own conduct."
NEW YORK (AP) — New York Mayor Bill de Blasio says "The city is in mourning, and the family of the NYPD is in mourning" after a police sergeant was shot and killed and a second one was wounded today in a gunfight on a street with an armed man who had broken into his estranged wife's home. The gunman also was killed in the exchange of shots that took the life of Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo, a 19-year veteran of the NYPD and the father of two young children.
