The Category 4 storm could also hit Jamaica and Cuba in coming days.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign manager Robbie Mook is challenging Republican Donald Trump to release his taxes after a New York Times report that Trump's business losses in 1995 were so large that they could have allowed him to avoid paying federal income taxes for as many as 18 years. Trump is accusing the Times of simply trying to promote Clinton.
HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) — Federal Railroad Administration information reveals accidents, safety violations and fines for the New Jersey Transit commuter rail system in the wake of a fatal crash Thursday at the Hoboken station. The data says trains have been involved in more than 150 accidents that caused more than $4.8 million in damage to tracks or equipment since 2011, and safety violations have cost more than $500,000.
MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's bloody anti-drug war and his foul-mouthed outbursts in defense of the campaign have unnerved foreign investors in one of Asia's fastest-growing economies. Analysts and businessmen point to uncertainties about Duterte's policies as largely to blame for foreign selling in the stock market and the peso's plunge to a seven-year low.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A 6-year-old boy who was critically wounded in a school shooting died Saturday, days after a 14-year-old boy opened fire on a school playground. Authorities say Jacob Hall had been fighting for his life at a hospital after a bullet struck him in a main artery in his leg, causing major blood loss. Officials say the teen also killed his father at home and is being held as a juvenile.
