JERUSALEM (AP) — Israelis, along with dignitaries from around the world, are attending the funeral of former President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem. President Barack Obama, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas (mahk-MOOD' ah-BAHS') and French President Francois Hollande (frahn-SWAH' oh-LAWND'), as well as scores of other world leaders are attending the funeral.

HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) — Federal investigators are working to find the cause of a commuter train crash in New Jersey that killed one person and injured more than 100 others. The National Transportation Safety Board will be looking to determine how fast the train was going when it crashed at the busy Hoboken station Thursday morning.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton can agree on something: They both admire German Chancellor Angela Merkel (AHN'-geh-lah MEHR'-kuhl). The subject of which foreign leaders to admire came up a day after third-party candidate Gary Johnson stumbled over the question during an appearance on MSNBC.

EL CAJON, Calif. (AP) — Police in El Cajon (kuh-HOHN'), California, say two men were arrested as some of the people protesting the police shooting of an unarmed black man became destructive and violent. Police say between 50 and 75 protesters were in the streets blocking traffic on Thursday night until they used pepper-spray balls to break up the crowd.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) — Hurricane Matthew has strengthened to a Category 2 storm as it moves through a part of the Caribbean that doesn't usually see such storms. The storm's maximum sustained winds have increased to near 100 mph. Matthew is centered about 125 miles north of Curacao and is moving west near 14 mph.
