SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Salt Lake City police officer has been hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop.
The male sergeant was on a motorcycle when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla Monday night as he tried to get the vehicle to pull over.
The sergeant was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
Utah Highway Patrol is investigating if the driver of that car ran a stop sign, or if something else happened to cause the collision.
