CITRONELLE, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say it may take investigators days to untangle a grisly murder scene in southern Alabama. Police say five adults were found murdered yesterday in a home in the city of Citronelle, about 30 miles northwest of Mobile. The victims included a pregnant woman. A 4-month-old infant was found alive.

ISTANBUL (AP) — Turkey's president says an Islamic State suicide bomber as young as 12 years old attacked an outdoor Kurdish wedding party in southeastern Turkey, killing at least 51 people. Nearly 70 others were wounded. The bombing late yesterday was the deadliest attack in Turkey this year.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraq has executed 36 men convicted of taking part in the Islamic State group's massacre of hundreds of soldiers in 2014. Officials say the men were hanged today at the Nasiriyah (nah-sih-REE'-uh) prison in southern Iraq. Islamic State militants captured an estimated 1,700 soldiers after seizing Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit (tih-KREET') in 2014. The group later posted graphic images of gunmen shooting the soldiers after forcing them to lie face-down in a shallow ditch.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — The men's Olympic marathon is underway in damp conditions on the streets of downtown Rio. It's the last track and field event of the Rio Games, and the Kenyans are expecting to wrap it up with gold. Other events on the final day of Olympic competition include men's basketball, with the U.S. playing Serbia for gold and Spain facing Australia for bronze. The men's volleyball team also plays for bronze against Russia.

EDGARTOWN, Mass. (AP) — President Barack Obama returns to the White House today after a 16-day vacation on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. His first order of business is a Tuesday trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to survey damage from flooding that killed at least 13 people and forced thousands into shelters. He'll also spend time this week preparing for a weeklong trip to Asia.
